Day 11 - October 11, 2011

We got the results back from the brain ultrasound scan. Basically they said there were some lighter/brighter areas that showed up which isn't "abnormal" and very well may be nothing, but there really not sure yet because it's too early to tell. There isn't any bleeding or fluid in the brain which is really good, but apparently these lighter areas are something they're going to want to monitor over the next 6-8 weeks. The doctor said most likely it's nothing but it's just too early to tell. So that wasn't such pleasant news considering I have no idea what the outcome will be but we'll just hope and pray this turns out to be nothing like he said.

We also received the heart scan results back today. The opening they found in his heart during the first scan last week has apparently gotten smaller this time around which is really good. So hopefully in the next one it will be completely closed up.

Other than that he had a pretty good day. I got to hold him again but only for a little bit, the nasal CPAP kept falling out of his nose. Apparently, the rubber was getting stretched out from them changing it so much so they had to replace the whole thing. Now that it's been replaced he seems much more comfortable. I just hope the swelling around his eyes goes down.

Holding the CPAP in place as I hold him

after they replaced the mask, you can see how swollen his little eyes are
